ครั้งแรกที่เกนติ้ง ประเทศมาเลเซียกับ MTV Asia Awards 2008 (MAA 2008)งานประกาศรางวัลของคนดนตรีจาก 9 ประเทศในเอเชีย โดยครั้งนี้จะจัดขึ้นที่ Arena Stars ที่เกนติ้ง ประเทศมาเลเซีย วันที่ 2 สิงหาคม 2008 ซึ่งจาเรด ลีโต (Jared Leto) จากวง 30 Secons to Mars ตกปากรับคำมาเป็นผู้ดำเนินรายการ
